Imagine having to bath your baby in the way shown here for the first 6 to 12 months!
And after that, being forced to use your house bathtub.
It works out to about 1000 baths.
Once you begin to use the house bath tub the water usage these days is a waste (not forgetting the cost).
We need to be smarter users of this precious resource.
The house bath is just not a good option any more.
Imagine your knees and back.
The position you are forced into is very uncomfortable.
Can you also imagine bathing your baby in the house bath while you are pregnant?
Not a great option but until now there has not been another way.

It leaves you with less time and energy for relaxing and socializing.

PAST METHODS....using the house bath
Drying
You are using your house bath and have just finished bathing your baby.
Now comes drying time!
You are now kneeling down in that awkward, bent-over, uncomfortable position by your house bath.
Picking your baby up out of the house bath in this position is hard on your legs and back.
The options for drying are:
* Place baby on a towel on the cold, hard floor to dry.
* Place baby on a towel on the cold, hard floor, so that you can wrap him or her.
Pick baby up to carry to the nursery for drying and dressing.
Standing up from that low, bending over or kneeling down position is not easy.
* Pick wet baby up to carry to your Nursery without wrapping him or her in a towel, which is extremely dangerous.
* Hold wet baby while fumbling with a towel to wrap him or her.
It’s pretty tricky doing this and not getting wet yourself.
* While kneeling down, hunched over your bath, pick baby up and twist around to pass baby over to your partner who is holding a towel.
* You could dry baby on your chest, which is awkward and puts your baby in danger

DRYING BABY....on the floor
When you are lying a baby down, he or she can lift their head and bang it against the hard floor or any other hard surface not a nice experience for them or you.
That is why the TUBmat® change pad is made of very thick, dense foam, ensuring once again that bathing is a good safe experience.
USING COMBINED BATHING CHANGING STATIONS
Change tables or combined stations are normally left in the nursery because they are too large to fit in most bathrooms, especially as you need to allow space for yourself to work around them.
The average bathroom is relatively small.
You cannot set one of these up in there and actually use it comfortably.
This is another reason why we designed the TUBmat® to sit on the bath tub, where it’s out of your way!
The TUBmat® does not take up any valuable floor space and you can actually use it, in the bathroom, comfortably.
You could wheel your change table closer to the bathroom.
This is a pain and time-consuming, as most change tables don’t travel smoothly over bumps and carpeted areas.
Do you really need the hassle of moving things back and forth every bath time?
If you don’t move your combined bath and change station to a wet area, you’ll soon have wet carpet in the nursery.
Most combined stations wobble, as they are not sturdy.
The problem is worse when your baby begins playing and splashing.
So as well as you feeling unsafe using them, water ends up everywhere.
The majority of these stations have the bath under the change mat.
Transferring your wet, wriggling baby from the bath while trying to hold them safely and put the change mat lid down is unsafe and not easy.
These tables force parents to put baby down somewhere (usually on the floor once again) while getting the change mat ready, then transfer baby onto the mat.
If partner is home, you can have them do it while you hold baby.

Just imagine you are forced into that horribly awkward position, kneeling bent down and hunched over next to your house bath.
Your partner is holding a towel.
You have just finished bathing your baby.
You pick your wet slippery baby up and twist around and pass your wet baby to your partner, who then carries baby to the change table in the Nursery to dry and dress them.
Babies that are wet are slippery.
It can be dangerous lifting them over hard surfaces in the bathroom or carrying them for a distance.
The risk is there!
There are many other products that aim to make the house bath easier for parents and safer for baby.
This problem has been solved with the creation of the TUBmat®.
For example, there are bath seats, tap covers, seats to kneel on next to the bath, etc.
Despite all these bathing a baby in the house bath is still hard and dangerous, and there is always a large amount of wasted water.
Filling & Emptying
Setting up, filling and empyting a baby bath for the first 6-10 months is a lot of unnecessary hard work, and imagine the accidents that could occur.
It’s so easy to be injured after giving birth, when you are feeling a little tired and sore, not so strong and with all the other extra jobs that you have.
Changing Nappies
Cleaning up the stains that occur from nappy change accidents when using a change table in the nursery can be extremely time-consuming.
Having the time to clean is also an issue, when your time is taken up with feeding, changing and settling baby for sleep.
Your spare time is when your baby is asleep, so cleaning up while trying to keep quiet and not disturb the baby is pretty tricky if you are in the Nursery.
Your TUBmat® will be in your bathroom, away from the Nursery, so you are able to clean at your convenience.
Forgetting to have clean water for cleaning baby and cleaning your hands before dressing them is another issue.
You may have just undressed baby and realized you have no wipes or water.
